Click to duplicate a transaction

Postby daninmich » Thu Sep 23, 2010 1:08 pm

I've used PDA transaction software and it had a great feature that allows you to duplicate / replicate a transaction by simply clicking on an icon - when you do so, the transaction you're currently in is recreated using today's date along with the same amount. I like to post transactions months ahead, so the repeating function doesn't really help, but this feature would be great. Other than posting it here, is there another avenue I need to take to submit this suggestion?

Thanks,

For which application are you suggesting this? Or is it a general suggestion for all the apps?

I'm new and just started using PocketMoney about 3 weeks ago, and while I'm requesting it for PocketMoney, I suspect it might be useful in general.

Thanks,

Then here is fine; Hardy should see it.

By the way, the application was called "TenderE", written for Palm products, and the button / command was "Clone".

I just loaded the trial version of PMD, and it looks like the "Duplicate" feature within the "Transactions" drop-down supports this already. Having the option to display a "Clone" or "Duplicate" icon within the transaction on the handheld apps would be really nice however.

The bottom left hand button on the 'Edit Transaction' page does this.

Thanks, found it and it works fine. The "same date" or "today's date" options don't really make a lot of sense, since you'd most likely want to duplicate it with a future date, but the work around is simple and straighforward.

Personally I never enter future dates but use both those options. We each have our own way of doing things I guess :)
