Granted, it is Apples doing, but nothing that anyone on this forum, apart from Hardy. says will change it. As you rightly say, any communication with Apple is strictly one way.

That's what I thought, too, but as you can read earlier in this thread, you can dispute an App Store charge, and that by definition can't be a "one way" process.

Does anyone know if Hardy has done anything in this regard yet, and is Hardy aware of this issue at all? He appears in this forum from time to time, but it's hard for me to tell whether he reads all the threads posted here.

Yes, you can "dispute" it but I was told that they were making an exception in my case. There is no guarantee that I would be successful if I "repurchased" the Sync Server and was charged again. However, I would use the term "non-replenishable" to describe the add-on if I had to dispute the charge.

As for Hardy being aware, I believe he is since I open a "bug" ticket on it: http://bugs.catamount.com/view.php?id=3836

Perhaps I will dispute with them before I buy. The App Store simply shouldn't demand payment from me for these items I've already purchased before.

Hi, has anyone seen any progress on this? I lost all of the previous add-ons I had in my iPad after upgrading the device and I'm not willing to enter a "dispute" with Apple...

The only way we'll ever find out is to do a "re-purchase". Apple doesn't normally announce policy changes; instead they are included in the updated Terms of Service, EULA, or whatever they call it. However, I didn't see any mention of the change before I was charged.

The bug is clearly still there and unresolved, because we should not even be required to make a purchase. I think this is one of the recent improvements in iOS 5: that you are no longer shown prices and purchase pop-up windows for items you've already purchased before, even if on another device. You get to see an "Install" button instead.

Perhaps, as part of this new way of indicating the stuff you own, Apple (or Catamount?) screwed up by labeling PocketMoney add-ons as "replenishable add-ons", which is why we get to see the prices and pop-up dialogs. These things shouldn't be there at all under iOS 5.1, for anyone who has purchased the add-ons in the past.

I posted a note to the "bug" report I made on this last month: http://bugs.catamount.com/view.php?id=3836

I figure if we haven't heard anything by the end of the month, I'll try sending an email.

Warning on In-app purchases for Charts & Sync Server

Postby Viald » Wed May 16, 2012 11:10 am

I have also be charged for both Inapp after installing PM to my new iPad.
ITunes support doesn't want to refund me as they can't find the first invoice when I purchased PM with Inapp for my iPhone. :(
