Cant sync back to ipad

Postby dgreensuperhoops » Sat May 14, 2011 3:24 pm

Hi
I restored my ipad today due to various problems. Before i did this I backed up the PM info to my laptop by wifi transfer.
I have just tried to transfer the info back to the ipad. I have tried both syncdocs and web browser bu I have the same result with both which is absolutely no info in PM.
I get the message on PM that the files have been successfully received on PM and to restart the program. This I do, and have done the whole procedure several times but still no information. This is about 2 years of info and will be a major problem to me if it cant be retrieved.
The sql file is 748kb.
Could someone please advise. Thanks

Why not just use iTunes File Sharing to add the back-up PocketMoneyDB.sql file back into PMiOS of your iPad?

Hi. I tried adding the .SQL file to iTunes. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but despite browsing to the file it refuses to be added. Have tried dragging it as well. This is becoming a disaster

1. Connect iDevice to your computer.
2. Launch iTunes.
3.Click on iDevice icon under "Devices" in left pane of iTunes.
4. In main right pane, click on Apps tab.
5. Scroll down to the File Sharing section. There are 2 panes: "Apps" & "Documents"
6. In the "Apps" pane, click on "PocketMoney", notice that the title of the right pane changes to "PocketMoney Documents"
7. At the bottom of the "PocketMoney Documents" pane click on the "Add" button.

8. A window opens so you can locate the file on your computer's hard drive.
9. Navigate to where the back-up PocketMoneyDB.sql file is located and select it.

10. Now click on the "Open" button. An alert window opens:

11. Click on the "Replace" button.
12. Note that the date & time of the PocketMoneyDB.sql file in the "PocketMoney Documents" window changes.

13. You're done.

NOTE: for some reason when I add files this way in PocketMoney and MPG, the file is given a random date in either 1970 for PM or 1971 in MPG. I don't know if is a quirk in iOS, iTunes 10.x, Mac OS 10.5.8, or because I'm using a PPC Mac.

Hi. Done that and the file shows in iTunes as having been successfully transferred. However PM is still empty- just says to create an account.

How big is the PocketMoneyDB.sql file you are coping to the iPad? It should be larger than 70k.

The other thing is make sure the file name is "PocketMoneyDB.sql". If not then it won't work.
