    @Marc,

The QIF importing amounts as zero is a bug in PocketMoney 3.0.7. I’ve fixed it for the next release.

Hi, now i am using the pocketmoney apps for ipad and i have a problem with editing information. When i edit the transaction e.g. changing date, changing from withdraw to deposit or changing category, the amount always set to $0.0 everytime eventhough i click saved already. Can you fix the problem? I don’t want to type all the amount again every time.

    amy,

I can’t reproduce your bug. I need more information. What version of PocketMoney do you have installed? Are you on an iPad or iPhone/Touch.

i am contemplating whether to use your pocket money software for my iphone. i have several queries though:

    1. is there a desktop version of Pocket money that has the exact or better window where i can update my transactions? is the latest version able to sync between the iphone and the desktop?
    2. can the iphone pocket money sync wirelessly with the ipad version?
    3. or can Pocket money sync directly w my MS Money 2006 version? at the moment, i am using ultrasoft money software on my PDA using windows mobile OS which can sync directly with my MS Money application in the desktop.
    4. if i buy pocket money application for iphone, do i have to buy separately for the version for IPAD and the desktop or is it a package altogether?

  5. Hardy Macia says:

    Jun,

    1. There is a desktop version in development. You can download the pre-release beta version from the forum for the desktop software. http://www.catamount.com/forums/
    2. Version 3.1 will add the ability to sync between multiple iOS devices. (I’ll be submitting it to Apple this week for approval).
    3. PM cannot sync directly. You must use QIF files. (Watch the video tutorial on working with MS Money and PM here: http://catamount.com/iPhoneApps/PocketMoneyHelp/index.php?content=2)
    4. If you buy PM for iPhone then you do not have to buy it for the iPad. The desktop software is a separate price at $19.95 for the intro price. You will need to either have PM for desktop for purchase the PM Sync Server as an In-App-Purchase ($9.99) – if you sync everything to desktop then you don’t need the IAP. If you want to sync between iPhone and iPad then you will need to buy the IAP.

Hi! This soft is great. All my money depends of it! (so i don`t really think it`s so good) just kidding!
Now really.. it`s great, but it will be greater if there is a desktop version and could sync them.
It`s something like that on your mind? Or does somethin like this exists?

    Thanks for all!

I wanted to know if you are going to make Pocket Money for the android and I just happened to look at your post of the android app you created which briefly mentioned Pocket Money coming later in the year… is this true? I would be soooo happy!!! Especially if you have all of the same features as the one you have available now. I can’t wait!

I have pocketmoney on my ipad, and when i export QIF to my quicken 2003, the date show 100 years wrong, like 1910 instead 2010.
please tell me how can solve this, or if it a bug that you most fix it.
    thanks

  12. Hardy Macia says:

You need open the QIF file with a text editor to see what format Quicken 2003 is exporting the date as. (Scroll to bottom of file and look for line starting with a ‘D’, the date will be after it and can be mm/dd’yy or mm/dd’yyyy or mm/dd/yy or mm/dd/yyyy or some other variation.

Once you figure out the format that Quicken 2003 is exporting, then go into PocketMoney’s Prefs > Data Transfers > QIF Options and set the Date Format to match what Quicken is exporting. Then import the data again — if it is your first time importing and you want to replace the bad data with the new data, then choose the “restore from desktop…” option to import the qif data – this will delete everything from PM and import the QIF file fresh.

    Dear Sirs
I’ve been using pocket money on my iphone for about 1 year (Last version is 3.0.8), but I could not understand how to export the “categories” of expenses for a certain period (1 month, 2 months, 6 months…), in order to print and analyse in Excel the summary for that period.
Before using Pocket Money, I used Cash Organizer for Win Mob 6, and that software had this possibility.

Thanks for your cooperation and quick answer.

    Kind regards

    Andrea

You can set a filter for the date range you want to look at, then choose Tools, File Transfers, email/wifi and select CSV or TDF file format to export the transactions to your desktop.

My husband and I both have iPads and Mobile Me. If we Sync the two iPads will he also be able to view the data I keep up with in Pocket Money. This would be extremely handy.

  16. Hardy Macia says:

Version 3.1 fixes a bug that prevents iPad users from using the Email Partner option to send transactions to each other. It also will include a PocketMoney Sync to allow you to sync the two ipads together so you can always sync up to each other when you want.

  17. Hi,

Excellent application, bought the version from my iPad first, was wondering how I got the iPhone version – you indicate that it was free for the iPad if you had the iPhone version, so was assuming works both ways???, plus how do you keep them in Sync, if you have both?

    regards

  18. Hardy Macia says:

    Rodney,

PocketMoney is an universal app meaning you can use it on iPad or iPhone. Your iTunes account lets you use the app on up to 5 devices I think.

Version 3.1 will add a feature for PocketMoney Sync that will let you keep multiple devices in sync. I’m submitting to Apple today.

  19. Karen says:

    Hi,
    Excellent application thanks!
However, I have a little bug: For repeating transactions, I have 3 repeating transactions on the same account, and only 2 of them are actually repeated. I am wondering if there is a limit in terms of number of repeating transactions per account as the same thing happen when I add a 4th repeating transaction.
Could you pls fix this bug asap?
    Thanks!!
    K.

  20. Hardy Macia says:

    Karen,

The only limit is in the LITE version of PocketMoney that limits the overall number of repeating events to 2.

There is no limit per account. Delete the repeating transaction and add it again, to see if that fixes it.

If you go to the Repeating Transactions screen, when is the transaction that isn’t repeating for you due next?

    Hardy

  21. Karen says:

Thanks, it is actually best to edit Repeating Transactions from the repeating transactions screen instead of Account screen, especially for repeating Transfers. Thanks!

My only grips is, is there any fature to capture the vat or, slipt a transaction at the point of capture so the vat is shown?

I’m using PocketMoney Lite, testing it beforeni gofer the full blown version.

    Thanks in advance

VAT support is on my to do list, but it’s not supported yet. You’d have to create a split and enter the vat manually currently.
