AppBank review/tutorial for Japanese version of PocketMoney for iPhone

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

PocketMoney : 超絶高機能家計簿アプリ。いや、これは資産管理アプリか。1738 – AppBank review/tutorial for Japanese version of PocketMoney for iPhone.

The computer translation of the site from Japanese to English isn’t very good. It seems to be a getting started tutorial/review of PocketMoney for Japanese users.

I found the review on Twitter after seeing several people retweet it. It was followed by daily sales in Japan increasing by 200-300% for a couple days.

Quicken for Mac OS and PocketMoney video tutorial posted

Friday, July 24th, 2009

I’ve updated the video tutorials in the PocketMoney Help/Video Tutorial page to include a new video tutorial of using Quicken 2007 for Mac OS X with PocketMoney. It covers getting all your data from Quicken into PocketMoney, creating a Recent Changes filter, and exporting the recent changes back to Quicken for Mac OS X.

And, I’d like to send out a special thanks Orlando Santos/Streamhawk for all of his help to help work out the kinks this process with his feedback in the forums, directly, and also beta testing for me, as well as, all of the other users in the forums and beta testers who help make PocketMoney beta with each revision.

Eudora to OS X Mail

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

I’m going to try to convert from using Eudora to OS X’s Mail app for all my email. I’ve been using Eudora for email for about 15 years, but it hasn’t been updated to take advantage of any of OS X features. I’ve tried using Mail after each major OS X upgrade, but always fell back to using Eudora, so I’m trying again on Snow Leopard.

With help from Eudora Mailbox Cleaner 4.9 all of my mailboxes have been imported into Mail. It took about 4 hours to convert all of the mailboxes.

Now, I have to retrain all of my neurons to use a different mail program. This means answering emails will be slower, but hopefully I won’t get to far behind.

40th Birthday

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

I took the day off today for my 40th birthday. Woot. It was just like my 30th and my 20th, although I was one goal short of a hat trick tonight in my indoor soccer game.
