[Update: I've removed Today! from AppStore due to a bug many users are experiencing. We think it is related to users with a large number of calendar events coupled with an inefficient query we were doing to cause the startup to take too long which results in the iOS terminating the application. When version 1.0.1 is approved by Apple, then I'll make it available again.]
Take a look at Today! on the AppStore

CheckPlease the most downloaded tip calculator on the AppStore is now available for the iPad for $0.99.
I just bought it and it doesn’t work. There’s a blank page, the “+”-symbol and the settings-symbol, but nothing happens when I touch them. And of course it doesn’t show any appointments…
Please fix it, because I really like the idea of the app!
I’m getting several reports about this. So far we haven’t been able to reproduce it, but we have fixed a couple things that might be related to it for an update.
when will the update be available? i purchased the application 5 days ago and experiencing the same problem as markus. it’s frustrating that i buy something and it does not work! why did you let me purchase it if you know there is a bug… please fix it ASAP.
Zoltan,
I removed it from sale on July 2 so people wouldn’t be able to buy it due to this bug. You must have bought it just before I removed it from sale.
The status is still “Waiting for Review” so Apple hasn’t even looked at the update yet. (This is the most frustrating part of iPhone development…waiting on Apple… on Android the bug would have been fixed and available to users on July 2nd.)
Hardy
Seems like you fixed the problem, the updated version of “Today!” now works on my ipod touch.
Well done!
i’d like to see the option to dispaly ToDo’s from Toodledo, first Today app that does that and shows Cal appointments on (like yours) on one screen gets my money for sure.
great app otherwise
The badge number for upcoming events doesn’t change unless I open the app. Needing to open the app defeats the purpose of having the badge count to me. I am missing something or should the badge count change as time passes through the day? Thank you
The badge number changes when the appointment is done. So if event is from 2pm-3pm then it will update at 3pm. There is an issue that we only schedule badges for 5 days in advance so you will have to open it once every 5 days. Usually this isn’t a big issue.
PS: Also if you change an event in Calendar then you’ll need to reopen Today since even though Today is registered to receive calendar update events Apple doesn’t post them to the app if you aren’t in the foreground. I have feature requests into Apple to try to fix this so you don’t have to open it ever, but Apple’s “multitasking” isn’t really multitasking so we a little limited in how we had to implement it.
Hi! Just started using Today a few days ago. Love the idea. Do you plan to update
the icon for iPhone 4 screen? It looks very blurry. Thanks!
Traci,
The icon and all the images used in Today! should be iPhone 4 savvy. I just checked with my design guy who has an iPhone4 and he says it looks perfect.

Traci,
There is an issue with the icon. We’ll get it fixed in the next release.

Thank you for the fast response!! Can you guess as to when you will submit the next release to Apple? I am looking forward to using your app as I go back to teaching next week.
Traci,
It will be a couple weeks. I want to add a the ability to show your appointments ahead in time, too, so it will take a bit of work to do that.

Apparently I don’t have the “app locking” problem, but instead I don’t understand the way the app works. Here is my problem.
In the app description it was specified that I only need to relaunch the application if I modify the appointments list for the current day. I also see that I have to open the app at least once every 5 days. Everything’s ok so far. What I did was to place some appointments on Friday for the following Sunday (> 1 day; < 5 days). After making the appointments I did not launch "Today!" on purpose – I just let it running in the background. On Sunday the badge did not change until I relaunched the app!
As Russ mentioned, the need to run the app every time I make changes to the calendar defeats the purpose of the app. Using the app is riskier than forming the habit of checking the standard calendar app every morning!
Hardy, in case the scenario I just mentioned is not the result a bug, I believe it would be fair for you to change the specification of the app, clearly stating that you need to launch the app each time you make changes to calendars.
[Context]: I'm running the add-free version of the app & syncing with 1 Google Calendar account with 5 calendars
Oh relaunch is required for any modification to calendar which includes adding a new appointment or deleting one. I’ll add it to the description to make it clearer.
