Resetting SCM fixed blue tooth keyboard and trackpad issue.

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

My wireless keyboard and mouse stopped working. I tried to re-pair the two, and it is coming up with an message saying “The pairing attempt was unsuccessful. This configuration of Mac OS X and Bluetooth software could be invalid or unsupported”.

I called Apple. They asked if I had the current software updates which I did. Their solution was to return the devices to the Apple Store an hour+ away from where I live.

Here’s the solution that worked for me, posted by Alon in the Apple forums:

Email/Server/Forum status

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

Emails:

I’m trying to catch up on the emails, but I’m a few days behind now. Please be patient, or post to the user forums where others might be able to help you out or your question might have already been answered.

Server:

I had to switch hosts for catamount.com. My old host had been having issues for a few months and wasn’t doing anything to correct the problems on their end. Almost every day catamount.com was slowing to a crawl and the host company was rebooting the server. It wasn’t due to an increased demand on the server by catamount users, but some other issues with their servers. Hopefully, the new host will be more responsive to fixing things when they aren’t working.

Forums:

Due to the server switch over today there might have been a few messages lost which were posted to the forums on the old host while the server change propagated through all of the name servers. Please repost to the forum again. (You won’t be able to post to the forums on the old server any longer which is how you can tell if you are on the old or new server.)

PocketMoney 3.1 submitted to Apple

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

I submitted PocketMoney 3.1 to Apple this evening.

New:

  • PocketMoney Sync – keep multiple iOS devices in sync or sync to PocketMoney for Desktops (OS X, Windows, Linux). Syncing between multiple iOS devices requires one of them to have purchased the PocketMoney Sync Server as an in-app-purchase for $9.99. If you choose to sync to just the desktop app then you don’t need to have Sync Server on your iOS device. PocketMoney Sync Instructional video
