UICustomSwitch – customizing UISwitch > color it, change labels

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

UICustomAfter looking for a day at how to change the blue of the UISwitch to a different color so it can match my theme in PocketMoney I ended up writing my own. This will let you change the tintColor and the labels. If you want to modify other aspect so fit to change the label to images you’ll have to modify the .png files.

This code can be freely used in any kind of project as long as the copyright information stays intact. If you improve on the code then please share it back to me so I can integrate it in with my code.

Over One Million iPhone Users Served

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

October 19, 2009 Catamount Software announced that their free and paid software for the iPhone and iPod Touch has been downloaded over a milllion times by users. Titles include PocketMoney, CheckPlease, MPGCandyWars, and several others.

I’m giving away one copy of each of my paid applications in celebration.

Post in the comments what app you want a promo code for, and I’ll hand them out on a first come first serve basis (see side bar for apps). So first comment that says “I want PocketMoney” will get a promo code for PocketMoney. First to say “I want MPG” gets MPG promo code. Only one promo code per person. Promo codes only work in the United States iTunes Store (Apple’s policy, not mine).

[I still have codes available for Bootlegger and I Am Poor.]

PocketMoney 2.4.1 for iPhone/iPod Touch available on AppStore

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Version 2.4.1 is now available on AppStore.

Additions to 2.4.1:
Russian localization file
Greek file encoding type added to allow import/export of greek files
Added preference (in budget view options) to allow selecting of all accounts for budgets even if when not shown in Show Accounts
Added preference (in edit transaction view options) to show all accounts in account picker and ignores the limit that is placed on the Account Balances view by the Show Accounts option in the account view options.

Bug fixes in 2.4.1:
!!!! The calculator keypad honors the cursor position for editing
Can delete the decimal point and readd it for swiss currencies “SFr. 23’234.34″
User can no longer open the payee, category, id, class popups by tapping in between fields. Must tap on label or >
QIF files will use filename for the account name if no account name is specified inside of QIF file.
Clearing the Search bar input will reset the transaction list position to today.
Auto complete on split will now remove the split items if the payee is changed to something that is a non-split.
Auto complete in payee and typing delete wasn’t removing the suffix – fixed now.
Custom currencies (hr, km, mi, days) no longer zeros out the amounts if transaction was edited and saved.
Account Info – you can now enter any length decimal number for the exchange rate. It is no longer affected by the account currency setting.
In LITE version displaying a budget expense details then going to the All Transactions in the Accounts no longer remembers the filter for that budget expense display and is reset to show all transactions.
Budgets in landscape mode now display the unbudgeted items correctly.
When entering in a payee you can now change the transaction type.

Other:
Opening the Payee picker list is a lot faster with a lot of payees in your lists (from 3 seconds to < 1) .
Removed some debug statements that will speed up the account list scrolling a little bit
Optimized importing QIF files (slightly)
French localization updates
Removed the restriction on the number of budget items in the Lite version
