Press Release: Swedish version of PocketMoney released

October 15, 2003: Catamount Software released a Swedish version of the popular personal finance application, PocketMoney for Palm OS.

"When one of my long-time customers, Jan Erik Moström of Umea, asked if I would create a Swedish version, I quickly agreed," said Hardy Macia, president of Catamount Software. "I enjoy translating my applications to different languages. It expands your world view."

In exchange for an hour of their time spent translating a text file from English to their native language, the translator receives a free copy of the software and their name displayed in the About Screen.

"I rely on native speaking customers to help with the translation of my applications. This helps create accurate translations. Swedish was more difficult than some translations because of how words are strung together. Adding a space to 'Rökfritt' could really stink up a place" said Macia.

PocketMoney is designed to do one thing and do it very well - track your finances quickly with the smallest amount of work. PocketMoney will help you keep your checking, savings, credit card and cash accounts in line.

On the Palm OS, one of PocketMoney's biggest strengths is its ability to interface with a variety of programs to create seamless integration of financial data with specialized features of other programs. Some programs PocketMoney works with are tip calculators, vehicle logs, budget managers, and customized data entry applications.

PocketMoney keeps the amount of data entry to a minimum and at the same time allows a great amount of flexibility. Unlimited accounts, categories and subcategories let users track data in any way. Powerful filtering capabilities let you report your data your way. PocketMoney lets you upload and download data with your desktop programs such as Quicken, MS Money, spreadsheets and databases on Macintosh, Windows, or Linux desktops.

PocketMoney is available in English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese,Spanish, Japanese, and most recently, Swedish, on the Palm OS platform. http://www.catamount.com/PalmApps/PocketMoneyPalm.html
PocketMoney is also available for Microsoft's PocketPC platform.

Catamount Software started creating software for Apple's Newton OS in 1993. Catamount then moved to the Palm OS platform in 1999, porting their most popular titles: PocketMoney, MPG, AutoLock, and CheckPlease. Catamount's other recent releases include StopWatches, TapCash, and the World's Smallest Political Quiz.
