This tab is used to specify which desktop PC folder is used when importing your financial data
from a 3rd party. You can also control whether or not certain lists are imported and whether or not
duplicate transactions are removed prior to synchronizing with the Windows CE device. Read on for more.
- Import Active - This option determines whether or not the import process is performed each
time your Wndows CE device is synchronized with your desktop PC.
To activate importing, mark the Import Active check box. All the other features will be now be enabled.
To deactivate importing and disable all import features, unmark this checkbox.
- Import File(s) Location - This path denotes where the import engine should look for financial data
to import. To specify this folder, click the Browse... and highlight the desired folder.
NOTE This path can not be the same as the export path.
- Remember on Import - When your data is processed, you have some control over whether or not
Categories, Payees and Classes are automatically added to your Windows CE picker lists.
Mark the checkboxes you want automatically added, and unmark those that you don't. On the next import
session, if the process finds any new lookups matching what you have marked, they will be added.
- Remove Duplicate Transactions - Marking this checkbox will display a very verbose description about
what it means to activate this option. Read the message and close it.
Sometimes the same account information can be found in two different QIF files, especially if you've
exported your QIF data from your favorite 3rd Party desktop financial application at multiple times in
the past.
Once all QIF or TDF files are processed, and this option is enabled, the plugin will then go
through and compare all the transactions, removing any that it finds be an exact match among others.
Please note that sometimes a duplicate transaction is desired. You may want to review your data on
handheld after synchronization is complete to be sure all transactions are accounted for.
- Import Now - After synchronization is complete and ActiveSync is idling, you may want to import
some new data. Move that data file into your specified import folder and click this button
to manually kick off the import process.
