Change Preferences

NOTE     PocketMoney Sync must already be activated and fully synched at least once before you can modify its Preferences. Please follow the steps found here to activate it and then return to this section to continue reading.

To modify the PocketMoney Sync Preferences on the desktop, please perform the following:

  1. On your Desktop PC, either:

    a) Right click on the Microsoft ActiveSync icon located in your System Tray (lower right of your desktop) and select Open Microsoft ActiveSync from the popup menu or simply double click on the round icon, or

    b) Select Start > Programs menu and click on Microsoft ActiveSync in the list of shortcuts.

  2. Next, choose from one of these two ways to open Preferences:

    a) Find PocketMoney in the list shown and eiher right click on it and select Settings... from the popup menu or simply double click on it, or

    b) Scroll down, highlight PocketMoney and click on the Settings... button found to the upper right of the list.

You should now see the PocketMoney Sync Properties dialog showing four tabs: Here is how each tab's Options break down.

Import

This tab is used to specify which desktop PC folder is used when importing your financial data from a 3rd party. You can also control whether or not certain lists are imported and whether or not duplicate transactions are removed prior to synchronizing with the Windows CE device. Read on for more.

Properties include:

Export

This tab is used to specify which desktop PC folder is used when exporting your financial data. Read on for more.

Properties include:

Formats

This tab is used to specify what file type to import and export and what date/time and number formats to use in the process. This requires some prior knowledge of your 3rd Party's QIF or TDF data format options. Please check their appropriate Knowledge Bases for more information on what they are capable of doing. Those options will determine what settings you apply here.

For convenience, the most common settings are set by default. However, if you see any warning message boxes appear during an import/export session, please adjust the various settings to a more appropriate format.

My Data

This tab is currently only used for one thing ... to delete all the data from the desktop database and subsequently from your Pocket PC.

After docking and all synching, importing and exporting is completed, open Preferences, switch to this folder tab and click the Clear All Data button. Preferences should then automatically close (depending on how you open Preferences it may not, so be sure only the main remains open) and synchronization will automatically occur, deleting all data from your PDA.
