Filters can be used to significantly reduce the number of transactions you view in a register at one time or isolate a subset of them to run some reports. Filtering criteria include:
How does it work When you apply a filter to an open register, PocketMoney will compare each transaction to the criteria you specified in the filter. If it finds any matches, then the transaction will be keep in the list. Otherwise, it will be removed from view. NOTE If a filter is active, and a transaction appears missing, it has NOT been deleted from your database! Simply deactivate the filter from the current account or modify the filter to include the missing transactions and they will reappear. See Also
Viewing Filters
To view your filters, select: View > Filters from either your Accounts of Transactions List. From there you will be able to create, delete or change existing filters or even see which filters are active. See Also
To create a new filter, select: View > Filters from either your Accounts or Transactions List and tap New. Fill out the desired criteria, give it a unique name and then select OK. That's it, Add as many filters as you would like. See Also
This view shows a summary of all the information related to a given filter. This includes all the criteria you specified plus any accounts that the filter may be currently active under. To view the current information for an existing filter, do the following:

You can update any piece of a filter at any time. Just open the Filters List, open the filter you want to change and edit its criteria. When you're done, click OK. If you want to edit another filter, just repeat the same steps. When you're done with editing your filters, close the Filter List by clicking OK. If you accessed the Filter List from an open register and an updated filter was active, the register will automatically be refreshed to reflect any changes to your filter. See Also
To delete a filter, open the Filters List and Tap and Hold on the filter you want to delete. >From the popup menu select Delete Filter. If the filter is active for one or more accounts, you will not be able to delete it. View the Filter's details to see which accounts the filter may be active on and then clear the filter from all of them before trying again. See Also
The Filters list can be set up to show all filters, just the inactive filters or only the active filters. To choose your desired view, open the Filters list from either the Account or Transaction list's menubar by selecting: View > Filters... From the Filters List, select View from its menubar and choose your desired option. See Also
To filter a list of transactions associated with an account, you must have at least one filter added to PocketMoney and the account register open. If you have met these two requirements, tap View > Select Custom Filter and then choose the desired filter from the list. See Also
To return to the full, unfiltered list of transactions associated with an account, make sure the account register containing the active filter is open and tap: View > Select Custom Filter > No Active Filter See Also |
